Child & Adolescent Behavioral Programs near Jackson
Children and adolescents, like adults, can face mental health and behavioral problems that affect the way they act, feel and think. Brentwood provides inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 and outpatient treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17.
Treatment is provided in a supportive, secure and controlled environment where all children and young adults can be treated by a caring and compassionate team.
Residential Programs for Children and Adolescents
The inpatient unit is designed with separate child and adolescent wings. Separate staff and programming ensure age-appropriate care. Multidisciplinary teams of mental health professionals is under the direction of a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist and consists of therapists, social workers, nurses, case managers, activity therapists and a nutritionist.
Individualized treatment plans are developed by integrating family, school, community agencies and other service providers. Average length of stay in these units is 5-14 days.
Acute psychiatric hospitalization (children age 5-11)
When a child or adolescent is experiencing a psychiatric or emotional disorder that prevents them from functioning in school, home or the community, they may benefit from our clinically-based inpatient psychiatric program.
Acute psychiatric hospitalization (adolescents age 12-17)
Teen treatments provide a hopeful, nurturing environment, along with quality psychiatric care. The goal of hospitalization is for every teen to return home (and school) with confidence and new coping tools to support their ongoing sobriety.

Outpatient Programs for Adolescents
We offer Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to help adolescents ages 12 to 17 address the various challenges they experience. Sessions are held in the afternoons and patients return home in the evening.
